I’ll be racing down to River Island this weekend for the launch of their iconic 1970s Chelsea Girl brand, which will feature as a branded capsule collection within selected stores.
If rumours are to be believed, the collection will have a vintage look but without the exuberant price tag.
Apparently the 40 piece range is to mark 40 years since the first Chelsea Girl opened. FYI- River Island was formerly Chelsea Girl before changing its name in 1988. A Chelsea Girl pop up shop is also being opened in Selfridges.
The collection has been designed by Lucy Moller from the National College of Art and Design, who won a design internship at River Island in 2006, under the direction of brand director Farida Kaikobad, who created the original Chelsea Girl creations.
