Alternative London Fashion Week

If like me you failed to blag front row seats to London Fashion Week, booo, fear not as department store Selfridge's are holding their own version of the capital's top calendar event.

Monday 14 February
Knitting needles at the ready for designer Craig Lawrence's knitting workshop, knit one pearl one. Craig, who previously worked for Gareth Pugh, will show virgin knitters how to add weaving techniques to their fashion repertoire.

Tuesday 15 February
Alex Noble, the designer behind Lady Gaga's headline grabbing bodysuit that she wore at the Brit Awards, will be creating a fashion sculpture on 3rd Central to showcase his fashion talents.

Wednesday 16 February
Visitors will have the chance to meet fashion designer Simone Rocha on the third floor. As the daughter of John Rocha, she describes her deisgns as 'modern and strong yet romantic.'

Thursday 17 February
Illustrator Sophie Stevens, tha brains behind Henry Holland's cheeky t-shirt collection which featured fashion icons in the nude, will host a life drawing class where visitors can brush up on their drawing.
Friday 18 February
Jessica Dance, who specialises in creating handcrafted sets, props and accessories, invites visitors to an afternoon of tea, cake and an introduction to set design.

Saturday 19 February
Jeweller Little Glass Clementine will demonstrate how to break and make junk and jewellery to create sustainable statement pieces.

Sunday 20 February
The owners of hoisery brand Patternity, Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham show how to appreciate patterns in the worldaround you.
