River Island's pre fall collection 2011

Now that we've had that one hot day of summer, I'm gearing my thinking towards my Autumn/Winter wardrobe, and River Island's pre-fall collection has got me hot under the collar. Available in store now, the garments in warm, rich tones make me excited for the start of the cooler weather.

To keep the early chill out-Poncho knit cardigan

I'll be teaming this maroon maxi with heeled ankle boots and a fine knit.

Mustard jeans and a burgundy top=perfection!

This Jackie O coat is ideal for chilly evenings.

Sock it to me

You can tell the type of person by the socks they wear, or so I like to tell people. Me, I like to co-ordinate my footwear to my outfit, which is probably why I have a drawer full to the brim of SOCKS, from lacy ones, frilly coloured ankle socks to crazy pop art patterned ones and knee highs, don't let anyone tell you socks are a stocking filler!
So when I saw Topshop have a new 'services' sock collection I thought all my Christmases had come at once. With their Navy Policeman and Red Soldier Face ankle socks (£3.50ea), the law will always be by my side.

Monica and Joe pop up shop

For one day only, husband and wife team-Monica and Joe Wahla, the brains behind the self titled contemporary online Boutique, set up shop at the exclusive Shoreditch House last weekend, and yours truly was granted a special invite.

The pop-up shop, perfectly positioned in The Snug, next to the hotel's restaurant and games room, featured  the boutique's most popular European brands including Cacharel, Malene Birger and my favourite-Pyrus. Amazing designer pieces sourced from across Europe, and champagne on tap, how could a girl resist?

I fell in love with one of the store's more unique pieces, and consequently the designer's, Munthe Plus Simonsen's, favourite garment in the collection. Each Ballet Rabbit waistcoat is hand-made, so no two are the same, and features embellishment and dyed rabbit fur in contrasting colours. Ballet rabbit multi-coloured waistcoat-£197.50.

Geometric silk multi-coloured dress by Madras-£110, designed by Jessica Ogden for French label APC.

Munthe Plus Simonsen's Bubska silk white blouse £82

I've found it so hard to track down the perfect leather jacket, that is until I saw this studded biker by Dannish designer Malene Birger, which is made from the softest leather. Varie studded leather jacket-£267.50.

All garments are available on the Monica and Joe website.
